The University of Zurich and Herzog & de Meuron rely on clear communication regarding the structural development of the UZH city university. The presentation of the construction projects in a large-scale digital 3D model helps everyone involved to find their way in the complex environment of the neighborhood. An ideal basis for discussion for the next steps.

To visually represent the future structural development of the UZH at the City Center location, the Directorate of Real Estate and Operations has worked with the LUUCY platform. This allows the scale of the building volumes to be reviewed and assessed within the urban context.
The UZH main building was erected in 1914 for just over 1,000 students. Around 100 years later, the requirements for space and infrastructure for teaching and research have changed significantly. The planned new FORUM UZH building contributes to the future viability of the UZH. Photovoltaic systems and intensive greening are planned for the roof of the FORUM UZH. This reduces the heat island effect and contributes to an improved urban climate. Such elements can also be displayed on LUUCY, and their impact can be examined from different locations.
For the communication of planned construction projects, UZH created and published a film sequence directly on the LUUCY platform. This tour also presents future construction projects for medical research and provides an outlook on which additional areas are being reviewed for new buildings. Since the construction projects are located in a highly visible position and their impact on the surroundings is of great importance, adequate review within the overall context is given special weight.
